  • Still Magnolias, Pelicans in Flight

    magnolia 6-18
I wish this was on my magnolia tree; I took the picture at a Florida Wayside Park on I-10

This series of Pelican photos was taken in Mobile Bay last Wednesday

This pic may be a re-post; it was taken in the same area as the others, in what is
apparently a favorite fishing ground for the Brown Pelican (Pelicanus occidentalis).

I'd like to meet you and your wife. You're so close, yet so far away! I'm boring but my fiance is fun. Think about it. We're not too weird. :) Nice photos!

I love the photograph of the magnolia and actually like the last photo of the pelicans, there is so much motion in it...

Absolutely wonderful photos!.  I never look at pelicans but that I don't remember the old limerick...Wonderful bird is the pelican, his beak can hold more than his belly can.

@AprilsPlace - Pelicans are uncanny in their ability to discern when I do not have a camera in the wheelhouse with me. That's when they glide slowly past my window, mere feet away.

He holds enough in his beak

to last him for a week,

and I don't see how in the hellican
