Mobile, But Still
You wouldn't know it from these pictures, but we are going weatherbound in Mobile, Alabama. A cold front should come through tonight and tomorrow, and we did have red sky in morning, so here I am, finally posting something.

Looky there, a White Pelican! He didn't come near me once I had the camera at the ready.
I took a hundred shots of the sunrise this morning, only a few made the cut

My good friend George and I took the arduous journey to the bluffs overlooking the Appalachicola River

Wow -- I love these!!!
Some great shots. I love the first sunrise pic.
That last one has a wonderful view!
beautiful shots
Greg, I'm gonna soon start commenting only on blogs with killer titles. You have nothing to fear from that decision. Bingo. And 'sailor take warning', I love when a vaguely internalized maxim heard-but-not-understood takes on flesh and bones. And pixels.
We had an odd hot east wind front move quickly through last night at 1AM. Felt like the End approaches. And now the whole country smells like Jordanian un-regulated chemical factories.
Sea-birds have evolved to smell the light-sensitive diodes in digital cameras, in addition to silver nitrate. Wouldn't be the freakiest adaptation ever. Coming up 'Pelicans/ Pelican'ts'
I always enjoy your pics !!
Beautiful colors.
Amazing how good photography can make even industry beautiful. I love words like Appalachicola. In Colombia there are a number of fascinating multisyllabic names with native origins: Facatativá, Fusagasugá, Titiribí... And words like pispirispis or fufurufu (both mean snob).
Your pictures are really gorgeous!
