EIGHT PICS FROM AN EIGHT-PACK

A left-over pic from our last drydock stay
This pelican took a breather on our tow
......and a sunset, taken from almost the same spot. Different days, however.
Poland Sreet Wharf, in lower New Orleans. It has been neglected, and is probably beyond repair
Middle Bay Lighthouse, in Mobile Bay. I hear it's for rent

The marshland and sunset pictures are spectacular. All stimulating and whatnot.
You see some of the best scenery...
these make my cabin fever worse
Your pictures are beautiful!!!
The light and color in the Marshland shot is great!
It must be interesting living in that lighthouse. I might could afford the rent, but I doubt I could afford the boat for the commute to shore and back. lol
Nice pics. I loved the sunrise/sunset shots. Good eye.
@Automaton_Emotion - I was getting pretty jaded about the best benefit my job has to offer, until I started sharing my photos with y'all.
@my_little_niche - Thanks
@C_L_O_G - There are probably otters, rabbits, racoons, marsh hens, and numerous other critters hidden in that grass
@Living_Truly - The sunsets have been fantastic this year
@godfatherofgreenbay - Try two weeks in a small house with three other guys. I do that 18 times a year.
@MelFamy - I agree. The sunrises have been beautiful as well. I just took some great shots that I will post later.
I love them all. The marsh turned out so wonderfully golden!
I love the idea of a sunrise and sunset shot from the same spot, and these are lovely shots! And that lighthouse is a magnificent shot!
What a beautiful sunrise. Even that dilapidated wharf has some hidden beauty to it. Thanks for sharing. =]
@MelFamy - Then I'm doubly glad you started sharing them.
Those pictures are beautiful!
Really great pics, man! I know I shouldn't, but I do so envy your life on the river. I been coming in here to these same old four walls at the tank wash for 21 years now. *sigh*
But, it's a living, so I shouldn't complain. I guess.
@buddly47 - At least you get to see your home every day. I spend 2/3 of my time away from the hacienda.
@WordsandThoughts - Watching neglected man-made structures slowly being reclaimed by nature is a hobby of mine.
@slmret - I love the lighthouse too. It is fully automated these days, and probably not really a good rental property. But it has survived some hellacious hurricanes
@ItsWhatEyeKnow - The marsh in the photo is in Lake Borgne, which is now more of a bay, thanks to (mostly man-made) erosion. I have seen the loss of land over the years that I have worked out here.
Very nice pics.! Thanks for shearing! Sure makes me want to go to the beach!!!
Have a good week!!
You could enter anyone of these in a contest. They're great.
