  • NO PARTICULAR PLACE TO SHOW

You don't really have to admit it, but it takes a steady hand to take a night picture that is this clear

Looking downriver, somewhere above New Orleans

    All 56L x 25W x 38H of my workplace

Those spots in the water are ducks, coots, to be specific. I'm guessing that there are a 1000 in this picture

Yes, I did have to put in a Pelican pic

Storm over Hudson Bay...that is, the ship named for the place

They won the fight, there is no ice in all of Monrovia

size is relative; this ship looks big until placed in this perspective

This one's for you, honey...gnite, I love ya!

  • Them's a lot of coots.

I saw a ship in the Boston harbor that looked like a very fancy barge with a tug tucked into the back end, which was U-shaped to accommodate it. Do such ships exist or did I misinterpret what I saw?

  • @Roadkill_Spatula - Yes, they are called articulated tugs and barges. The barge is made up in the notch mainly while traversing inland waters. Once they are out to sea, they put the barge on a towline that can be 1000' or longer.

  • Another great bunch of photos. Thanks for that last one...I love you!!

  • Thanks for the pelican, and the cranes. I suppose if you have cranes you just need a pelican too?

  • beautiful sunset and that second to the last photo fills me with awe.

  • #1 is truly a sharp picture -- all that light must have helped it!  Love the pelican, as always, and the shot of your little workplalce!

  • No ice in Monrovia? Sure. Next you'll tell me there are no cats in America.

Next time you go out, I think you should bring C., D., and B. I would love to be a fly on the wall for that.

  • A steady hand....so who did take the nite picture.....great pics

  • Lovely photos.  I always enjoy your work.  The power button on my camera stopped working while we were in Rome.  What a lousy place to have a camera problem.  I discoverd how to open it through the photo reviwer, but I bought a new camera as soon as we got home.  Just too frustrating.  I haven't used the new one yet except in the Camera Store, but for a small camera it has a lot of bells and whistles.
