This is truly a remarkable story, and a remarkable song! It's interesting to me musicologically that it would change the entire tone of the song to move it up or down 1/2 note and mix black and white notes -- and it's also interesting that most spirituals are on the black notes only -- so THAT's where that soulful tone comes from! God I started tearing up half-way through, not for the theology but for the purity and intensity of belief and the story needing to be told. Sure makes me miss playing the Hammond behind this. His version has those three key changes, is what makes it so uplifting.E to F# to A; couple white notes in some of 'em, but don't hear nobody complaining. An excellent find

It is just getting light over here in 'Nawlins. I was disappointed last night; the moon didn't look blue to me.
