LOBSTERS? WE GOT NO STEENKING LOBSTERS!
When George invited me to ride out to the beach with him, I could think of no
better way to spend a Saturday; celebrating a local tradition....No, not swimming in the Gulf, although it did look tempting.....
People-watching, though popular, was not our goal
Neither was marveling at the sugar-whiteness of the sand, as seen here....
When George told me just what was going on behind Schooners, I stopped
whispering to dolphins.............and rushed to our rendezvous point
Nice places, huh? 1200-2000/month in the off-season, they better be nice!George and I actually came for the sand sculpture contest.......
.....but this one in progress, being constructed by the judges for TOMORROW's contest, was the
only sculpture being made. The contestants will have two hours in which to build theirs
A professional sand-castle-builder's tool-kit. Which is harder to believe? That so many
tools are needed for professonal sand-castle building, or that there actually Are professional
sand-castle builders?
No, your Dad isn't proud, your Mom isn't proud. Your kids will only think your job is 'neat' until they are seventeen. Besides, you cheat; there's Elmer's Glue mixed with the water in your spray bottle.
One of many condos on Panama City Beach, this one is looming over George.
Stop looming, you silly condo!

* That white sand is lovely.
* What happens when the sand castles are knocked down? Does the glue remain to pollute the beach?
love that white sand ... would love to squiggle my toes in the wet sand ... ah, now I know the secret to really awesome sand castles!! haha
Picture number 4 tells me everything I need to know about why you went out there!
Those are pretty nice beach houses -- similar to some at Malibu! And I love the sand castle shots! I've only been in the hotels in Panama City, as I was there on business and had clients, so no tme for play -- the beach looks lovely!
Great Pics.... I especially like people watching.....
I saw impressive snow sculptures in Anchorage in 2002. I don't know if they used Borden's up there.
Haven't been to Panama City beach since 1985. I love west Florida, though.
@Roadkill_Spatula - Well, you should make a point of passiing through here soon.
@MelFamy - Alicia has a sister in Tampa. Our plan is to move there a year or two after we get married. Then we'll be within striking distance.
@Roadkill_Spatula - The Salvador Dali museum is in St Petersburg, a definite must-see
