CLEANING OUT THE HARD-DRIVE AGAIN
Once one of the many wharves along the New Orleans waterfront, Poland Street is a victim of benign neglect
We are told to let sleeping dogs lie. But Pepe says he's comfortable, and that's no lie.
Put your left foot forward and your wingtips out,
you do the hokey-pokey....
Right tasty with ketchup
The new surge control floodgate, west of New Orleans, and you know that it's new...
....no dings, no divots, no scrapes, yet! Give us time.....
The trail at the Lynn Haven sewage reclamation site. Don't drink the water...
I will post more pics, just as soon as we find the trail outta here

Those flood gates are impressive! I have heard the term but never saw an image of them , I think I was picturing a canal lock, not that that would do any good there it is just what I pictured as flood gates.
@seedsower - On the east side of New Orleans, there is another floodgate, in a concrete wall that is miles long. I watched it being built, as we pass through the area every few days, and the amount of manpower, boats and cranes and such it took to build this project was a sight to see. I will be putting some pics up from that build in the next day or so.
cool pics
@MelFamy - Let me know when they are up if you would please? I want to see them.
Great grasshopper shot, and it's good to see the floodgates!
The captions are always a sizable % of the joy. Hmm, 'the floodgates of helll' is an expression I've heard, by now I can picture it better.
And I always though folks were saying "Let's leaping dog sly." and never could figure why it made no sense.
@jsolberg - "Let's sleep in, Dogsly", is actually the punch line to a very old joke, one that taste and decorum prevent me from posting here. One of my incentives for posting, Yoni, are the delightful comments of yours.
